In order to provide conditions for safe and trusting training of professional practical skills, create conditions for students to develop and improve professional competence, introduce simulation technologies for medical education as part of the implementation of the Concept of Reform of Medical and Pharmaceutical Education, approved by the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan in 2008, by the decision of the Academic Council of the NOU “Medical and Social Institute of Tajikistan” dated December 27, 2022, under No. 5/3-3, the Practical Skills Training Center (TSTC) was established.
The center is located on the sixth floor of the Scientific and Educational Clinical Center.
The motto of the center is: Providing an appropriate educational environment for clinical training in the center. Goal: the opportunity to develop, maintain and improve clinical competence, provide optimal conditions for fruitful clinical and communicative learning and implement the principle of lifelong education.
Clinical base and personnel
The center actively cooperates with the clinical departments of the institute. For example: with the departments of obstetrics and gynecology, internal medicine, childhood diseases, general surgery, family medicine. Each of these departments has its own clinical base.
Material base of the Center
The institute management fully supports our training center. The latest equipment, mannequins and dummies are purchased.
Study work
Studying at the Center for Education and Science gives the student the opportunity to implement the principle: “Prove what you know; show me what you can do.” Simulation training is different in that before visiting a patient and performing any manipulations, the student must first study them on simulators, phantoms and mannequins at the Practical Skills Training Center, then confidently go to the patient and provide qualified assistance. The practical skills training center is equipped with modern training equipment.
Educational and methodological activities
For each practical skill, the Center’s specialists have currently developed algorithms for practical skills in their implementation. Posters are being prepared, that is, wall instructions for step-by-step implementation of each skill with illustrations. In order to optimize the training of clinical skills, the Center for Clinical Practice has educational short films on step-by-step implementation of practical skills.
Medical and advisory work
All specialists of our center work part-time in cities clinical hospitals and clinical departments of our institute. There they provide treatment and advisory assistance depending on their specialty.
