Faculty of Dentistry in order to properly implement the educational process at the NEI “Medical-Social Institute of Tajikistan” and train highly qualified specialists who meet modern requirements, based on the order of the Rector of the Institute (together with the Faculty of Pharmacy) dated 02/25/2021 under No. 04-40a.
With the start of the activities of this faculty from March 2021 to October 2021, the responsibility of the Dean of the faculty was assigned to the Dean of the medical faculty, candidate of philological sciences Rizoeva Gulnora Ikromovna. Then, by order of the Rector of the Institute, Egamov Mohira Malikovna was appointed Dean of the faculty from 10/01/2021 under No. 04-156.
By order of the Rector of the Institute dated September 1, 2023 No. 04-434, the position of Dean of the faculty was assigned to the candidate of chemical sciences Boboev Muhammadiso Ubaydulloevich.
In order to properly implement the education system and further train highly qualified personnel, the departments of “Medical Dentistry” and “Orthopedic Dentistry” were openeo at the Faculty of Dentistry by decision of the Academic Council of the NOU. The “Medical - Social Institute of Tajikistan” was founded on January 27, 2022 under No. 04-28.
Currently, the position of head of the Department of Medical Dentistry is assigned to Gulnoz Khoshimovna Kurbanova, and the position of Head of the Department of Orthopedic Dentistry is assigned to Candidate of Medical Sciences Odinaev Ilkhom Islomiddinovich; 13 teachers work in both departments.
In order to improve the level and quality of education and practical skills of students, as well as to increase the efficiency of training in specialized dental subjects, 8 classrooms were put into operation in a preclinical manner. The departments of the faculty have installed 7 universal dental devices for the treatment and treatment of patients and practical skills that are used.
In order to improve and increase the theoretical and practical knowledge of students, the faculty has established cooperation with several medical and dental centers:
- Clinical, scientific and educational center at the Medical-Social Institute of Tajikistan
State Unitary Enterprise "Dental Clinic"
- Scientific and Clinical Research Institute of Dentistry and Maxillofacial Surgery
There is a student scientific club at the Departments, in which students try to improve their theoretical knowledge. It is planned that in the future the best graduates of this specialty will be selected to work as teachers in departments of the faculty and engage in research activities.
Department staff have prepared textbooks and electronic literature on a number of subjects, which allows students to familiarize themselves with educational guidelines and lectures, as well as take tests and tests.
To date, teachers of the departments have prepared 4 educational and methodological sets for students of higher professional institutions:
- Educational and methodological set “Medical Dentistry” for the 3rd year of the Faculty of Dentistry
- Educational -methodological complex on the subject “Propaedeutic Dentistry” for the 2nd year of the Faculty of Dentistry
- Educational - methodological set on the subject “Dentistry” for the 3rd year of the Faculty of Medicine – 49 pages.
- Educational - methodological set on the subject “Dentistry treatment” of the 3rd year of the specialty “Dentistry” - 308 pages.
At the faculty, the educational process is carried out in accordance with the Regulations on the credit education system, in accordance with the program and curricula approved by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tajikistan. The training course takes place in the following forms: a) classroom training (lectures), practical training (seminars); laboratory work. b) extracurricular activities, personal conversations (consultations), independent work under the guidance of a teacher; c) monitoring the level of student learning: checking the completion of test work; conducting intermediate certification; Conducting tests (in written or computer form) on individual chapters of the subjects being studied; d) current certification – final test exam in individual subjects; e) final state certification: state exams in specialized subjects.
In the first year of the establishment of the Faculty of Dentistry, 186 students were admitted to the full-time Department. At the faculty, students study in two languages (Tajik and Russian). The annual enrollment of students at the Faculty of Dentistry is 150 people. Currently, 716 students are studying in 3 courses at the faculty.
The five-year training period ends with a final state certification, and graduates are awarded the qualification “dentist.”
