   The department employs 1 Doctor of Medical Sciences, and 1 candidate of medical sciences. There are 6 full-time and external colleagues, who have worked at the department from 2 to 20 years, including doctor of medical sciences Ikromov T.Sh. Treatment and advisory workTreatment and advisory work is carried out by the Department of Childhood Diseases of the State Institution "Republican Scientific Clinical Center of Pediatrics and Pediatric Surgery", the State Institution "Family and Child Support Center No. 1", the State Institution "Family and Child Support Center No. 2" and the National Medical Center of the Republic of Tajikistan "Shifobakhsh".  The history of the department

The Department of “Childhood Diseases” is one of the structural divisions of the Medical - social institute of Tajikistan and was created in January 2022. Order No. 04-37 of January 27, 2022The head of the department is Mizhgoni Sorbon-candidate of medical sciences. She defended her PhD thes research work on theme: “Clinical and social aspects of humanization of medical care for newborns” in 2018. Educational and methodological worksThe department made a great contribution to the organization, selection and placement of personnel, equipment and visual aids for the educational process.

Training is conducted in two subjects “Teaching the basics of childhood diseases” and “Pediatrics” in three languages (Tajik, Russian and English). International students are also study in our institute, and classes are conducted in English. Teacher’s staff of the department makes every effort to improve educational, methodological, scientific process. In order to improve the quality of practical training, teachers widely use modern teaching methods and constantly improve them. Theoretical classes are conducted by doctor of medical sciences Ikromov T.Sh.

Classrooms are equipped with visual aids, which play a key role in improving the quality of the lessons.The institute's library contains educational literature in three languages: Tajik,     Russian and English.Educational activities of improving the quality of education are one of the main goals of the institute.Department has developed and approved an educational program in the subjects “Fundamentals of Сhildren’s Diseases” and “Pediatrics” in three languages. Educational materials are available in two official languages: Tajik and Russian.Subject of "Propaedeutic of Сhildren’s Diseases" for 3rd year students of the "Medical Work" specialties of foreign students and "Medical Psychology" and  "Pediatrics" subject for the 3rd year students of the "Dentistry" specialty, 4th year "Medical Work" and 3 year “Therapeutic work”, foreign students are studying theoretical and practical classes.

Students are trained in accordance with the Regulations on the credit-module system.

Educational work.

Educational work is one of the most important issues in the education of youth, and students of the faculties of medicine, dentistry and medical psychology, which are constantly engaged in the spirit of patriotism and humanity, in particular, in observing etiquette and deontology.Before the starting of the classes, teachers of the department will hold a meeting with students on issues of manners and morality, manner of speech, extremism and terrorism, the fight against corruption, the dress code that meets the requirements, student attendance at classes, etc.  

Research work

During the 2 years teachers of the department published 5 articles and 2 theses in the journal “Health Care of Tajikistan” and took part in (conferences, forums, symposiums) in Tajikistan.The scientific activity of the teachers occupies an important place in the work of the department. The department works on the basis of the scientific plan of the institute in the direction of the developing scientific potential, intensifying and improving specialization, and attracting talented young teachers to applicants for academic degrees.

The results of research work are regularly used by teachers of the department in the daily academic activities of the students.

Achievements of the department.

The head of the department, candidate of medical sciences, Mizhgoni Sorbon in 2008 was awarded the badge of “Excellent Worker in sphere of the Health Care of the Republic of Tajikistan”, in 2017 she was awarded with the “Excellent Worker of the Education and Science of the Republic of Tajikistan”, in 2023 she awarded with “Excellent Worker in the Press of the Republic of Tajikistan” and in 2023 with a memorable medal, which is dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the trade union of health and social protection workers of Tajikistan, as well as the teacher of the department Mamurov D. was awarded the sign “Excellence in healthcare and social protection of the population of the Republic of Tajikistan” in 2023.
