History of the department

The Department of Histology is one of the structural divisions of the National Educational Institution “Medical and Social Institute of Tajikistan” and was created in January 2023 (Order No. 04-10 of January 6, 2023).

From the founding of the department to the present time, the department has been headed by Candidate of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor Zufnuna Nazirovna Sokhibova. She made a great contribution to the organization, selection and staffing of the department, to the acquisition of the necessary equipment, instruments, visual aids and reagents for the educational process.

The department studies three subjects: “Histology” in two languages (state and Russian), “Microanatomy” and “Embryology” - in English. Currently, the employees of the department are performing a multifaceted task aimed at improving educational, methodological, scientific, publishing and ideological and educational work. Improving the quality of practical classes and lectures is achieved through the compilation of specialized methodological and teaching aids in all sections of the subject for students of all faculties. An increase in the quality of improving the teaching of histology in recent years has been the publication of textbooks (Z.N. Sokhibova “Private Histology” in two parts for 2nd year students).

The condition of the classrooms for lectures and practical classes is satisfactory; they are equipped with visual aids, which has a great effect on improving the quality of learning and makes classes fun.

The department has many versions of textbooks on histology, microanatomy and embryology in electronic form; texts of lectures in the state, Russian and English languages; presentations on lectures and practical classes; methodological aids for practical classes; educational programs; test tasks, etc. .

The department has stands about the teaching staff of the department; approved calendar and thematic plan of lectures and practical classes in the specialties “General Medicine”, “Medical Psychology” and “Dentistry” in three languages; exam questions in three languages; information stand.

Educational activities

One of the most important issues is the education of young people in the spirit of patriotism and humanity, in particular, adherence to ethics and deontology. Lectures on ideological, political and educational work are held among young employees of the department and students.

The department carries out educational work with students from different faculties in the specialty “General Medicine”, “Medical Psychology” and “Dentistry”. The general plan of educational work of the department and the work plans of each teacher-supervisor are approved at a meeting of the department.

At the beginning of practical classes, teachers of the department conduct educational conversations for 10-15 minutes on the topics: Love for one’s homeland and nation; the meaning of state symbols; familiarization with the books of the Founder of peace and national unity, Leader of the nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon; achieving goals and implementing the Strategy of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan. Particular importance is attached to issues of countering extremism and terrorism; with anti-constitutional trends; fight against corruption; the significance of Rogun and others. They take seriously the laws “Regulation of traditions, holidays and rituals” and “Responsibilities of parents for the upbringing and education of children”; ten-decade plan “Water for development for the period 2018-2028”; development of the city of Dushanbe; scientists and honored figures of the Republic of Tajikistan; achievements in the fields of education, science and educational activities; training of foreign students, etc.

Every day, conversations are held with students about correct behavior in public places, the ethics of communication and addressing other people, and the manner of dressing. Particular attention is paid to students attending practical classes and lectures. If a student is absent from class for a valid reason, it must be immediately made up. Actively participate in public events of the institute and department. Go to the places of interest of the city and country.

Scientific activity

An important place in the work of the department is occupied by the scientific activities of teachers. Based on the research plan of the institute, the department works towards the development of scientific potential, activation and advanced training, attracting talented young teachers of the department to doctoral studies in the specialty of Doctor of Medical Sciences (PhD); development of educational and research activities with the introduction of innovative methods of organizing the educational process; enriching the educational process with the results of the latest scientific research.

Sokhibova Zufnuna Nazirovna has been a doctoral student at the Department of Dermatovenereology at the State Educational Institution of the Tajik State Medical University named after Abuali ibni Sino since May 12, 2021, to receive the degree of Doctor of Medicine in the specialty “Skin and venereal diseases” - 14.00.10 (Order dated 06.07. 2021 clause No. 105/15). The topic of her scientific research concerns two areas of medical sciences: histology and dermatovenerology “Etio-pathogenetic and clinical features of age-related changes in facial skin and their correction in residents of various climatic and geographical regions of the Republic of Tajikistan”, approved at a meeting of the Grand Academic Council of the State Educational Institution “TSMU named after. Abuali ibni Sino" dated October 28, 2021 (protocol No. 2). Scientific consultants: Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor of the Department of Human Anatomy and Latin Medical Terminology. Ya.A. Sokhibova Z.N. For the first time, the features of age-related skin changes in people of different genders and professional activities living in different climatic and geographical regions of the Republic of Tajikistan were studied using histological, histochemical, dermoscopic and trichoscopic research methods. For the first time, the molecular-phase composition of skin (hair) derivatives was established using IR spectroscopy; based on these data, 2 patents for inventions were obtained. These scientific studies are widely used in practical medicine.

The results of research work are regularly used by teachers of the department in the daily educational activities of students.

In order to improve the quality of training of medical specialists, awaken creative activity in scientific research and conclusions, study more specific specialized disciplines, attract more students, connect science with production, strengthen theoretical knowledge and practical skills, as well as in pursuance of the order of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan dated 31 January 2020 (under No. 1445) “Twenty years of study and development of natural, exact and mathematical sciences in the field of science and education” at the department there is a student research society (SRS) “Young Histologists”. All employees of the department take part in it and the most capable students with a penchant for science are attracted. Their reports, made at annual scientific and practical conferences of young scientists and students of the institute and the republic, and all-Union student scientific forums, were repeatedly rewarded with Certificates of Honor, diplomas and valuable gifts. Students are engaged in research work under the joint supervision of the head of the department, candidate of medical sciences, associate professor Z.N. Sokhibova.

Meetings of the department's SSS are held according to the approved plan once a month on the second Friday of each month at 15.00, at which thematic issues are presented in the form of a presentation, and methods of approaching scientific research are discussed. Meetings are held in the following formats: speeches by SSS members, discussion of events from medical practice, scientific debates, etc.

Mentoring of winners or prize-winners of student Olympiads, as well as mentoring of students awarded medals in the Olympiad of student works and with honors for the first 3 places

1. In February 2023, 2nd year student of the Faculty of Medicine of the 10th group Maksudova Maryam (scientific supervisor Sokhibova Z.N.) took ONLINE participation in the international scientific and practical conference for students of medical universities in the section “Morphology”, which was held in the city of Tashkent (Uzbekistan ) where she took an honorable second place.
2. From April 5 to April 26, 2023 at the State Educational Institution “TSMU named after. Abuali ibni Sino" within the framework of the "Week of Science and Innovation" the Republican Olympiad "Avicenna-2023" was held with the participation of students and scientists from institutions of higher professional education of the republic. In the “Theoretical Medicine” nomination, 6 students took part in the 1st round of the Olympiad in histology and received a “Certificate” (Sadulloev Ilkhomjon, Gulaev Shakhzod, Boynazarov Asliddin, Tursunova Shakhnoza, Shahromi Abdunazarzoda, Akhmedov Ulugbek) 2 students took part in the 2nd round of the Olympiad (Sadulloev Ilkhomjon and Gulaev Shakhzod).

Achievements of the department

The head of the department, candidate of medical sciences, associate professor Sokhibova Zufnuna Nazirovna was awarded the badge “Excellence in Health Care of the Republic of Tajikistan” in 2018.

Educational activities

Everyone knows that improving the quality of education is one of the main goals of the institute, and this initiative is unanimously supported by the staff of the Histology department.

At the department of the educational program “Histology”, 1st and 2nd year students in the specialties “General Medicine”, “Medical Psychology” and “Dentistry” study lectures and practical classes on the subject “Histology” in two languages (state and Russian) . In the subjects “Microanatomy” and “Embryology”, 1st year students in the specialty “General Medicine” study lectures and practical classes in English.

Students are trained according to a credit-module system. Over the course of 2 semesters, the department takes 4 academic ratings orally; at the summer and winter sessions, an exam is taken in the subject “Histology” in two languages (state and Russian), and “Microanatomy” and “Embryology” in English.

Lectures and practical classes at the department are conducted according to educational standards, taking into account new technologies and using innovative teaching methods in the state, Russian and English languages. It should be noted that all teachers of the department have collected sets of tables, stands, tests, situational tasks, instructions for conducting practical classes, which help improve the level and quality of classes.

Lectures at the department are given by the head of the department, candidate of medical sciences Sokhibova Z.N. in the state and Russian languages.
