History of the Department 

For the first time on the basis of the former limited liability organization "Medical and Social College of the City of Dushanbe" on the basis of the Regulations on the Department of Secondary Vocational Education (Colleges) of the Republic of Tajikistan, at the same time in accordance with Section 8, Article 65 of the Charter of the "Medical and Social College of the City of Dushanbe", by order of the director No. 04- 119 of September 11, 2019, the Department of “Surgical Disciplines” was created. This department combined educational subjects related to surgical disciplines.

By the decision of the Academic Council of the Non-State Educational Institution “Medical and Social University of Tajikistan” dated January 26, 2022 and in accordance with the “Regulations on the Department of Higher Professional Education Institutions of the Republic of Tajikistan” (Decision of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tajikistan, March 30, 2017, No. 3/13) structure The Department of “Surgical Disciplines” was transformed into the Department of “General Surgery” by order of the Rector of the Medical and Social Institute.

The Department of General Surgery is considered the main educational and scientific structure of the institute and carries out its activities in the areas of educational, methodological, research, public education and international relations. The educational, methodological and research work of the department corresponds to the main direction of activity and curriculum of the specialties “Medical work” and “Dentistry”, the training of personnel for which is established by the deans of the faculties.

Currently there are 9 teachers working at the department, 4 of them have academic degrees and scientific titles. The department is headed by Ph.D. Pulotov KamolJon Jamolovich, whose candidacy was chosen by professors and teachers by secret ballot at a meeting of the Council of Scientists of the Institute for a period of 5 years 

Educational activities.

The Department of General Surgery, according to the curriculum, deals with the following subject disciplines: “General Surgery”. Surgical diseases”, “Operative surgery and topographic anatomy” (for 3rd and 4th year students “Medical work” and “Dentistry”, “Nursing in surgery”, “Eye diseases” (for students of medical colleges) and “Diseases of the ear and throat and nose" (for 4th year students of the "Medical work" direction).

Training is carried out according to the credit system in accordance with educational programs and plans approved by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Tajikistan. The training course takes place in the following forms: a) classroom training (lectures), practical training (seminars); laboratory works. b) extracurricular activities, personal conversations (consultations), independent work under the guidance of a teacher; c) monitoring the level of student learning: checking the completion of test work; conducting intermediate certifications; Conducting tests (in written or computer form) on individual chapters of the subjects being studied; d) current certification - a comprehensive test exam in individual subjects; e) final state certification: state exams in specialized subjects.

In order to improve the level and quality of education and practical skills of students, to increase the efficiency of teaching specialized surgical disciplines, 2 classrooms of the department are preclinically equipped, which:

- an office for practicing practical skills in the subject “Emergency Care”;

- an office for training practical skills in the direction of “General Surgery”.

Currently, there are classrooms for teaching practical skills with all the necessary equipment in specialized subjects, including computer simulators for performing artificial respiration and chest compressions for adults and newborns, electronic devices for catheterization and instillation, devices for tracheostomy (“conicotomy” ), simulators (“simulators”) for identifying injuries, burns and frostbite, simulators for artificial respiration and chest compressions with the possibility of intubation in newborns and cardiac defibrillation, simulators for caring for newborns, simulators for intramuscular cardiopulmonary resuscitation and intravenous injections, especially for caring for patients with an artificial colostomy, inserting a tube into the stomach and washing the stomach, applying the first suture to a bleeding wound, applying bandages to the amputated part of an arm or leg, transport splints for arms and legs, cervical collar ("cervical collar ") for bruises and neck fractures.

At the same time, the classroom for teaching surgical skills is equipped with surgical instruments (more than 50 units), an electrocoagulator, a surgical table, a surgical lamp, a sterilizer and syringes, all of which are functional and are used by students and teachers.

All classrooms are equipped with tables and chairs and feature themed banners. The corridors of the department are decorated with study corners and banners.

Clinical base of the department. Clinical, Scientific and Educational Center at the Medical and Social University of Tajikistan (3 classrooms, teachers Pulodov J., Kholikov Kh.L.) City Clinical Hospital of Emergency Medicine (1 room, teachers Kamidov A.V.); State Institution “Health Complex “Istiklol” (2 rooms, teachers Bakhadurov J.T., Mirzoev D.S.), where co-teachers work.

In total, the total area of the department with training grounds is more than 1000 square meters, which corresponds to 8 to 12 square meters for each student (this figure meets and even exceeds the standards that determine the status of higher education institutions). vocational education of the Republic of Tajikistan).

Educational activities. The Department of General Surgery mobilizes all available capabilities, including the intellectual and creative energy of students and teachers, to implement the requirements of the National Concept of Education in the Republic of Tajikistan.

Employees of the department on actions and initiatives that are assessed by the Founder of Peace and National Unity - Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Honorable Emomali Rahmon, the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, relevant ministries and the council of the institute developed an action plan and, in accordance with it, carried out educational work among teachers for students.

In order to implement the National Concept of Education in the Republic of Tajikistan, he takes the necessary measures, conducts constant study of it in the classrooms of academic groups, and monitors the implementation of internal procedures and student rules. The department monitors compliance with the “Recommended medical clothing for students of higher professional educational institutions” and takes the necessary measures to develop national self-awareness, civic dignity and patriotism of students.

Educational work is carried out on the following topics: implementation of the provisions of the laws of the Republic of Tajikistan: “On the responsibility of parents in the education and upbringing of children”, “On the regulation of traditions and holidays in the Republic of Tajikistan”. Tajikistan". At the same time, in class groups with teachers and students, issues of promoting the tireless fight against terrorism and extremism, and other undesirable manifestations, preventing youth from joining extremist groups, and propaganda activities are discussed.

Discussions are being held to improve the level of communication between teachers and students, communication with patients during internship, mandatory compliance with the provisions of the Code of Medical Ethics, and strengthening of continuous moral and legal education among students. The department promotes student participation in events, competitions and conferences to promote a healthy lifestyle at the regional, city, national and international levels.

Every year, the Department of General Surgery holds conferences of teachers and students, at which the achievements of teachers and students are reviewed and used, and this is also covered in the media, on the website and in periodicals of the institute.

Medical and advisory work. Assistants of the department (Pulodov J., Khalikov Kh.L.) perform complex operations and at the same time are responsible for duty at the clinical center of the institute.

Diagnostic and therapeutic work is carried out by the head of the Department of Surgery at the State Institution Health Complex “Istiklol”. New methods of treatment on the biliary tract: endoscopic retrograde cholecystopancreatography (ERCHP), papillosfinchesterotomy, stenting of the digestive organs with malignant tumors, endoscopic treatment of the esophagus ahalazia, esophagus strictures and strictures after the anestosis, polypetomy yu, stopping bleeding during bleeding from intestinal ulcer (pushing bleeding gastric mucosa, dilation of the esophageal veins, etc.).

Achievements of the department.

ACHIEVEMENTS IN PATIENT DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENT FOR 2022-23.

1. New methods of treatment on the biliary tract: retrograde cholecystopancreatography (ERCP) and papillosphincterotomy for cholelithiasis.
2. Stenting of the digestive organs for malignant tumors.
3. Method of endoscopic treatment of esophageal achalasia (pneumodilation of cardiac vertebrae).
4. A new method of treating chemical burns of the esophagus in children.
5. Strictures of the esophagus with post-burn strictures and strictures after anastomosis.
6. Endoscopic resection of large colon tumors.

Scientific activity

At the department, 3 graduate students carry out scientific work, including 2 doctoral and 1 candidate. By the decision of the Academic Council of the Institute, the Interdepartmental Council was created, its position and staffing were approved.

Currently, the department is conducting scientific research on the topic: “Problems of improving the diagnosis and treatment of surgical diseases and terminal conditions in adults and children.”
