Department of Medical and Biological Physics with Fundamentals of Information Technologies

1.HISTORY OF THE DEPARTMENT The Department of Medical and Biological Physics with Fundamentals of Information Technology was established on September 1, 2020, based on the Regulation on Departments of Higher Professional Educational Institutions of the Republic of Tajikistan (Decision of the Council of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tajikistan dated August 29, 2022 No. 12/4, and earlier dated March 30, 2017) and paragraph 14.6 of Article 93 of the Charter of the non-governmental educational institution "Medical-Social Institute of Tajikistan". In 2020-2021, the position of the Head of the Department was Davlatov R.J., Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), Doctor of Technical Sciences, in the 2021-2022 academic year, the Head of the Department was Ibragimov Rahmonali. From October 2022 to December 2023, the acting head of the department was Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences Sh.M.Rakhmonov. M.M. Davlyatova, PhD in Economics, has been serving as Acting Head of the Department since January 2024.The department is located on the 4th floor of the main educational building of the Medical-Social Institute of Tajikistan and has one lecture hall and four classrooms, which are equipped with optical equipment, an electronic board and a projector.

2.MAIN ACTIVITIES OF THE DEPARTMENT OF MEDICAL AND BIOLOGICAL PHYSICS WITH FUNDAMENTALS OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY

Improving the quality of educational activities using modern teaching methods;2. Active participation of department staff in events aimed at improving the quality of specialist training (conferences and seminars, competitions, and open training sessions).3. Work has begun on preparing materials for the credit system, the new syllabus program, and curriculum instructions for the subjects "Medical Physics and Mathematics," "Higher Mathematics," "Geography with Basic Demography," and «Information technology».4. Organizing events to improve the qualifications faculty members of the department;5. Participation of the department faculty in public events of the Medical - Social Institute of Tajikistan;6. Participation of department faculty in professional competitions, holiday gatherings, etc.7. Preparing students for national and international Olympiads.8. Cooperation of the department with the departments of physics of the Tajik State Pedagogical University named after S. Aini and the department of medical and biological physics of the Tajik State Medical University named after Abu Ali ibn Sino, as well as with other relevant structures in order to improve the qualifications of specialists with higher medical education. 3. STAFF OF THE DEPARTMENT OF "MEDICAL AND BIOLOGICAL PHYSICS WITH THE BASIS OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY" There are three candidates of science and one doctoral candidate working and studying in the department. Currently, the department has 10 staff members, including five full-time teachers and five internal part-time lectures. 4.EDUCATIONAL WORK OF THE DEPARTMENTThe department is located on the 4th floor of the main academic building of the Medical - Social Institute of Tajikistan and has one lecture hall and three classrooms equipped with visual aids, electronic whiteboards, and a projectors. Additionally, the Department of Medical and Biological Physics with Fundamentals of Information Technology in the basement of the institute's main building has three computer labs, and a physics lab (403) equipped with laboratory equipment is located on the fourth floor.In accordance with the curriculum, the department specializes in the following disciplines: "Medical Physics and Mathematics", "Higher Mathematics", "Information Technology" and "Geography of Tajikistan with the Basics of Demography" in the specialties of "General Medicine", "Social Work", "Medical Psychology", "Dentistry" and "Pharmacy", and and these subjects are taught at the faculties.

5.EDUCATIONAL AND METHODOLOGICAL ACTIVITIES

The Department of Medical and Biological Physics with Fundamentals of Information Technology is an academic and research unit of the institute, focusing on teaching, methodological, scientific, and educational activities. The educational, methodological and scientific work of the department is focused on the specialties of Therapeutic Work, Social Work, Medical Psychology, Dentistry and Pharmacy, and these faculties teach the subjects of medical-mathematical physics, higher mathematics, information technology and geography with the basics of demography.The department's educational activities are carried out in accordance with the requirements of the Regulation on the Credit System of Education in Institutions of Higher Professional Education.

6.RESEARCH WORK

In order to improve the quality of training specialists in the field of medical work, medical psychology, dentistry, social work, as well as to awaken creative activity in scientific research and formulation of conclusions, a deeper study of individual specialized disciplines, strengthening theoretical knowledge and practical skills, as well as in order to implement the Decree of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan dated January 31, 2020 (No. 1445) "Twenty years of studying and developing natural, exact and mathematical sciences in science and education" for 2020-2040, in accordance with the requirements of paragraph 11 of the Regulation on the faculty of higher professional educational institutions of the Republic of Tajikistan, on the action plan for the implementation of the Comprehensive state program for the training of personnel for the social protection system for the period up to 2030 in the Department from 20.09. In 2023 (by decision No. 04-567), the “Eureka” student scientific circle was created within the framework of the Department of Medical and Biological Physics with the Fundamentals of Information Technology. The student scientific circle conducts discussions and events in accordance with the approved work plan.

7.EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES

Educational work in the Department of Medical and Biological Physics with with the Fundamentals of Information Technology, based on the National Education Concept of the Republic of Tajikistan, includes a set of systematic, targeted activities and covers the main areas of developing students' well-rounded personalities, namely: fostering patriotism and national pride, strengthening professional ethics, developing a sense of responsibility, respect for universal human values, and promoting a healthy lifestyle. These activities are implemented through discussions and seminars on moral topics, participation in scientific clubs and literary circles, and participation in cultural and educational events. These activities are aimed at preparing highly qualified specialists devoted to their homeland.Educational work is conducted on the following topics: Implementation of the Provisions of the Laws of the Republic of Tajikistan: "On Parental Responsibility in the Upbringing of Children" and "On the Regulation of Traditions, Holidays, and Rituals in the Republic of Tajikistan." At the same time, teachers and students in study groups discuss ways to promote and encourage the relentless fight against terrorism and extremism, as well as other undesirable phenomena, by preventing youth from joining extremist groups, through propaganda, discussions, and meetings. All study groups offer classes on family education, etiquette and the psychology of communication, the concept of beauty, and engaging students in Tajikistan's historical and sacred sites.
