During the meeting of the Council of scientists of the institute, held on May 31, 2023 (protocol #11/1), it was proposed that the name of the department of public health care, medical statistics, history of medicine with the course of nursing work be "Department of public health and health, statistics" medicine to be replaced by the course of the history of medicine" (cafedra dozhevsknogo zdorovya i zadzhanazhnogo, medizinskoi statistiki s kursom istorii mediciny), which was replaced according to paragraph 1 of the order of the institute from 01.06. 2023 (№13).

Based on the minutes of the meeting of the election commission dated August 30, 2023 (№2) "Regarding the results of secret voting" for the selection of the vacant position of the head of the department of public health and health, medical statistics with the course of the history of medicine of the Medical and Social University of Tajikistan. associate member of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan, professor A. Akhmedov was appointed to the position of the head of the department of public health and health, medical statistics with the course of history of medicine of the Medical and Social University of Tajikistan from August 30, 2023 to August 30, 2028 for a period of 5 years.

According to subsection 2.1. the decision of the meeting of the board of the non-state educational institution "Medical-Social University of Tajikistan" dated October 17, 2022 №2/2 in the direction of the development of personnel potential, the recruitment of experienced and talented personnel with a scientific degree, the necessary measures to be taken, the scientific efficiency of the department should be increased to 60%.

Currently, 3.02 work units are allocated in the department: 1.0 work unit - the head of the department is an affiliated member of the National Academy of Sciences of Tajikistan, D.I.T., Professor A. Akhmedov, 1.0 work unit - i.v. assistant of the department Toshov A.H. and 1.02 other work units were occupied by internal and external colleagues.

This subject corresponds to the development of social policy of society and the state, accepted social programs. This system, compared to other disciplines, is more suited to solving these tasks.

It is basically a strategic and tactical science of health care, based on research on public health, it develops organizational, medical and social proposals aimed at increasing the level of health of the population and the quality of medical care.

Public health and health studies the laws of public health and health in order to develop scientifically based strategic and tactical proposals for the protection and improvement of public health and the organization of medical and social assistance. The difference from most medical disciplines and, first of all, from clinical disciplines is that clinical disciplines are related to the health of an individual, our discipline is related to the health and health protection of society, groups of individual people, the population, that is, to social problems and processes. is directly oriented and serves as a bridge between medicine and social sciences, especially sociology.

He focuses on social problems in medicine, i.e. health promotion, as well as the study of the adverse effects of factors and social conditions on the health of the population and its individual groups, he develops sound scientific recommendations to eliminate and prevent the effects of social conditions and factors harmful to people's health. takes measures to protect and improve the health of the population. The main problems and tasks of this discipline are: health recovery; positive and negative effects of conditions and social factors; public health and health care, their improvement, - includes.

Thus, our science studies the laws of public health and health. Currently, the following structure of scientific and educational research is being implemented:

  • History of healthcare;
  • Theoretical problems of healthcare and medicine;
  • Conditions and lifestyle of the population;
  • Sanology (valeology);
  • Problems of social hygiene;
  • General theories and concentrations in medicine and health care.
  • The state of public health and methods of its study. Medical (sanitary) statistics.
  • Problems of social assistance. Social Security and Health Insurance.
  • Organization of medical assistance to the population.
  • Economy, planning, financing, health care.
  • Insurance medicine;
  • Health management.
  • Health care abroad; activity of WHO and other international medical organizations.

The main areas of activity of the department

  1. Increasing the level and quality of knowledge and practical skills of students in the field of public health and healthcare, developing their personality and outlook.
  2. Improving the educational effectiveness of public health and health care subjects, including training using modern teaching methods and technology.
  3. Organization and conducting of scientific-methodological events, scientific-practical seminars, open and sample trainings, conferences and seminars, scientific weeks, etc.).
  4. Enrichment of the educational process with the results of the latest scientific research.
  5. Preparation of methodological instructions and educational literature.
  6. Increasing the level of educational, moral, ideological, political and educational activities of students.
  7. Professional development and retraining of teachers.
  8. Scientific-research cooperation with other state educational institutions and research institutes.

Educational activities of the department

The department conducts theoretical and practical classes for students of medical, stomatological, psychological and social work faculties. Education is carried out according to the curriculum, based on the characteristics of each faculty and the characteristics of future specialists in Russian and Tajik languages. Each classroom is equipped with a computer, and teachers use multimedia methods as a visual aid during lessons. In practical training, teachers use visualizations in the form of posters and tests.

The department works closely with the students' scientific club - "Vorisoni Sino" (Decree of the rector of the "Social Medical University of Tajikistan" Ibodzoda Z.H. dated 31.03.2022 No. 148). Within this club, student conferences, quizzes and round tables are held every year. are carried out.

Educational-methodical activity

 In recent years, the staff of the department has published new lecture courses with new sample and work programs, which are the basis of professional medical education. New programs are prepared in the state languages and Russian according to the state standard of higher professional education. They determine the goals and objectives of the discipline, the requirements for mastering the content of the discipline, thematic plans of lectures, practical exercises and thematic plans of independent work of students in accordance with the provisions of the credit system of education. During the years of activity of the department, educational programs (syllabi), texts of lectures on medical statistics, demography, history of medicine for students of faculties of medicine, stomatology, medical psychology and social work have been prepared in the official and Russian languages.

Scientific - research works

The department operates on the basis of the plan of scientific-research activities, in the direction of development of scientific potential, activation and improvement of qualifications, attraction of talented young people in the field of science.

In order to improve the quality of training of specialists in the field of therapeutic work, medical psychology, stomatology, social work, and to awaken creative activity in scientific research and conclusions, to deepen the study of certain specialized subjects, to strengthen the theoretical knowledge and practical skills acquired by students in studying the subjects separately and also in order to implement the decision of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan dated March 31, 2022 (under No. 148) on the action plan for the implementation of the comprehensive state program for training personnel of the social protection system of the population for the period up to 2030.

Educational works

Educational work in the department according to the plan of educational work prepared by the vice-rector for educational work Okhunov B.Kh. It is agreed upon.

The plan of educational activities of the department was prepared based on the requirements of the "National Concept of Education in the Republic of Tajikistan" (Decision of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan №94 of March 3, 2006). Educational activities are aimed at increasing the level of knowledge and culture of students.

In order to increase the level of communication between teachers and students, communication with patients during internship, mandatory compliance with the provisions of the Code of Medical Ethics, strengthening of continuous moral and legal training among students, explanations are conducted. The department carries out educational activities based on the requirements of the legislation of the Republic of Tajikistan.

The department of public health and health, medical statistics with the history of medicine course of the institute is located on the first floor of the "Tajikistan Medical and Social University". The department has 3 classrooms, 1 lecture hall. All classrooms are equipped with banners and didactic visuals. The department has 2 electronic boards and 3 multimedia with collapsible screens.

The teachers of the department use modern effective teaching methods to make the training interesting and to attract students to learning. Multimedia slides, videos, and electronic boards are used in practical exercises and lectures for better learning of educational materials. During training and other educational activities, the department makes extensive use of audio-visual materials.

Now 3 new educational programs (syllabus) have been prepared in the department: "Fundamentals of demography", "History of medicine" and "Medical statistics", which were prepared by the professor of the department of public health care and medical statistics with the course of medical history of MDT. DDTT named after Abuali ibn Sina" d.i.t., professor Rajabzoda S.R. and reviews were received by the head of the Department of Reforms and Public Health and International Relations of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Republic of Tajikistan.

Currently, the working program (syllabus) of the subject "Public health and health" has been reviewed and a modern program is being developed. Now, in this department, lectures and experimental work on the mentioned subjects are being conducted in 2 languages (both Tajik and Russian).

In the department, in order to effectively conduct classes, pedagogical and didactic methods are implemented using modern educational technologies, and more attention is paid to practical classes. The administration of the institute has allocated 3 rooms for the activity of the department on the first floor of the main building of the institute. Now their educational process is being equipped with educational visuals. The work of the scientific club "Varison Sino" is carried out in a certain system.

The methodological source of this discipline is not only its own, but also other sciences and fields of knowledge, mainly from sociology, mathematical statistics, epidemiology, social psychology, economic sciences, management science, computer science and other medical sciences. widely used. Our discipline is organized at the intersection of medical and social sciences.

This discipline has its own topic, object of research and study (public health and health care) and a set of methods and approaches, which definitely meets the modern requirements and criteria for defining it as a science and an independent subject of education.
