History of the Department

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is one of the structural units of the Medical -Social Institute of Tajikistan, that was established in January 2022 by the decision of the Council of Scientists of the Non-State Educational Institution "Medical -Social Institute of Tajikistan", (Decree №04-36 of January 27, 2022).

The activities of the department are carried out in accordance with the requirements of the Regulations of the Standard of the Republic of Tajikistan (Resolution of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tajikistan dated March 30, 2017 № 3/13) on the approval of the Regulations of the Department of Higher Professional Educational Institutions of the Republic of Tajikistan, as well as in accordance with the Medical-Social Institute of Tajikistan.

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is located on the 5th and -1st floors of the "Clinical, Scientific and Educational Center" consists of 4 classrooms equipped with all the necessary equipment for students.

Currently, 10 teachers work in the department, of which 3 are main teachers and 7 are external collaborators.

The main tasks of the department:

Education:

o Providing high-quality, specialized education to students in the field of obstetrics and gynecology.

o Developing and implementing educational programs that meet modern standards and the needs of society.

o Using modern educational technologies

Scientific research:

o Conducting fundamental and applied scientific research in the field of obstetrics and gynecology.

o Establishing scientific cooperation with other scientific and educational institutions, both within the country and abroad.

Methodological activities:

o Development and improvement of guidelines, recommendations in the field of obstetrics and gynecology.

o Improving the qualifications of specialists in the field of obstetrics and gynecology through advanced training courses, seminars and trainings.

Educational work:

o Contribution to the education of medical personnel who meet the needs of society.

o Development of professional, moral and social skills of students.

o Conducting educational work among the population on issues of women's reproductive health, disease prevention and a healthy lifestyle.

In other words, the tasks of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology are aimed at education, research, therapeutic, methodological and educational work.

Educational activity.

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology conducts educational activities in accordance with the curriculum for obstetrics for the 4th year of the Faculty of Medicine, gynecology for the 5th year of the Faculty of Medicine, obstetrics and gynecology for the 4th year of the Faculty of Dentistry, obstetrics and gynecology for the 5th and 6th year of the Faculty of Medical Psychology.

Education is carried out using the credit system in accordance with the programs and curricula approved by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Tajikistan. The educational process is carried out in the following forms: a) lecture classes (lectures), practical classes (seminars); b) independent work under the guidance of a teacher; c) monitoring the level of student learning: checking the performance of test work; conducting intermediate certifications; conducting test tests (in written or computer form) on individual sections of the subjects being studied; d) current certification - final test exams in individual subjects;

In order the level ,quality of education and practical skills of students, department has 1 classroom in the institute's practical skills center, which equipped with all the necessary equipment for specialized subjects, including obstetric and gynecological chairs and materials.

The department teaches obstetrics and gynecology disciplines. Classes are held mainly in the building of the Clinical, Scientific and Educational Center under the "Medical - Social Institute of Tajikistan", as well as in the republican medical institution in the Istiqlol medical complex and the Research Institute of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Perinatology of the Republic of Tajikistan.

The teachers of the department effectively use modern teaching methods to make classes interesting and attract students to learning. They use multimedia slides, videos and electronic boards. Lesson topics are displayed in the slides. Students also learn from banners, slides and individual elements and prepare for classes.

Educational activities

Educational work at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, which is carried out on the basis of the National Concept of Education in the Republic of Tajikistan, includes a set of systematic, purposeful activities and covers the main areas of forming a comprehensive personality of students, namely, the upbringing of patriotism and national pride, strengthening professional and deontological ethics, developing a sense of responsibility, respect for universal human values, and promoting a healthy lifestyle. These activities are implemented by organizing talks and seminars , participating in charity events, organizing scientific clubs and literary circles, as well as participating in cultural and educational events, and the goal is to prepare highly qualified specialists loyal to the Motherland. The department also strives to strengthen the spirit of patriotism, pride in the rich history of the nation, and respect for the cultural values of the Tajiks among students, so that in the future they can serve their people as educated doctors.

Educational work is carried out on the following topics: implementation of the provisions of the laws of the Republic of Tajikistan: “On the responsibility of parents in the education and upbringing of children”, “On the regulation of traditions, celebrations and ceremonies in the Republic of Tajikistan”. At the same time, in study groups, teachers and students conduct discussions on the promotion and encouragement of the relentless fight against terrorism and extremism, extremism and other undesirable phenomena, and the prevention of youth joining extremist groups.

Scientific activity

Scientific activity at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is aimed at researching topical issues in the field, including studying methods of prevention, diagnosis and treatment of women's diseases, improving obstetric care, investigating factors affecting reproductive health and the course of pregnancy, the results of which are published in scientific articles, conferences and methodological manuals and are used in the educational process.
