Department Clinical Facilities

Currently, the department employs one candidate of medical sciences, two junior assistant professors, and two senior lecturers. The department has a total of five staff members. The department's clinical facilities are located in two hospitals:

1. Dushanbe Infectious Diseases Hospital (Zarafshon Street, Dushanbe)
2. City Medical Center No.1 (1 Sovietsky, Dushanbe)

 History of the Department

The Department of Infectious Diseases was founded on August 31, 2025, by a Resolution of the Council of Scientists of the Medical and Social Institute of Tajikistan and began its activities in September 2025. The acting Head of the Department is PhD, Sohibnazarzoda Rukhshona Khaqnazar.

 Methodological and Teaching Work

      Before the start of the academic semester, the Department develops and approves theoretical and practical lesson plans for all faculties approved by the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs.

   In theoretical and practical classes, instructors make extensive use of modern teaching and assessment methods. The methods for conducting theoretical classes and practical exercises are constantly being improved. The department's clean and spacious classrooms are equipped with modern technology: electronic whiteboards, projectors, modern desks and chairs, and CCTV cameras.

      For all faculties of the institute have been developed and approved Syllabus in the state language, Russian, and English. The institute and department libraries also have the necessary educational materials in the state language for mastering the subject. These include the following textbooks:

1. "Infectious Diseases" (author: Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor E.R. Rakhmanov, 2017 edition);
2. "Infectious Diseases of Children" (author: Nusratullo Fayzulloev, 2019 edition);
3. "Infectious Diseases of Children" (authors: N.A. Rakhmatov and G.N. Saidmurodova, 2020 edition).

 Educational and Methodological Work

The Department provides educational and methodological support to students of the Faculty of Medicine (sixth-year students), the Faculty of Medical Psychology (fifth-year students), and the Faculty of Dentistry (fourth-year students). Classes are also taught in English for fifth-year international students. The Department's and Faculty's educational and methodological work plan with their supervisory groups are approved at department meetings.

Regular meetings are held with students on issues of extremism and terrorism, appropriate behavior in public places, speech ethics, communication and addressing others, dress code, medical ethics and deontology. Particular attention is paid to student participation in practical and theoretical classes.

Research Activities

 The Department's staff members  have published over 24 scientific papers in Tajik and Russian languages. The Textbook of «Infectious Diseases in Children" (author S. Akhmedova фтв N.S. Talabov) was published in 2021.

 Student Science Club

    The Department plans to establish a Student Science Club (SSC) for talented and interested students in accordance with the "Department Work Plan for 2025-2026." The goal of the Student Science Club is to develop scientific thinking, enhance theoretical and practical knowledge, and engage students in research.
