The Department “Internal Diseases” of the Non-State Educational Institution Medical-Social Institute of Tajikistan was established on 27.01.2022. By the order of the Rector of the Non-State Educational Institution Medical-Social Institute of Tajikistan No. 9/4-2 dated 26.02.2025, the name of the Department of Internal Diseases was renamed to “Internal Diseases with the Course of Clinical Cardiology”. The Head of the current department, Candidate of Medical Sciences Rofizoda Kh.Sh., is a doctoral candidate, applicant for the degree of Doctor of Sciences of the Department of “Efferent Medicine and Intensive Therapy” of the State Educational Institution “Institute of Postgraduate Education in Healthcare of the Republic of Tajikistan” and at the same time is the chief cardiologist of the Health Department of Dushanbe.
The Department “Internal Diseases with the Course of Clinical Cardiology” is located on the 5th floor of the “Scientific Educational Clinical Center at the Non-State Educational Institution Medical-Social Institute”. The Department has 3 classrooms, a lecture hall and 15 off-site classrooms based in medical centers of Dushanbe.
Lectures and practical classes are conducted at the department in the following subjects:
1.propaedeutics of internal diseases
2.internal diseases
3.course of clinical manipulations
4.military field medicine
Training is conducted in 3 languages – state, Russian, English. The classrooms are equipped with stands, mannequins, banners, didactic materials, electronic board and multimedia projector and everything necessary for the educational process.
The department staff consists of 25 teachers headed by the Head of the Department. Modern interactive teaching methods are used in all lectures and practical classes. All topics of classes correspond to the working program (Syllabus) approved by the Ministry of Education and Healthcare of the Republic of Tajikistan.
Additionally, in the 2024–2025 academic year the following актуальные topics were introduced into the existing calendar-thematic plan (Syllabus).
For 4th year students:
- Respiratory failure (approved protocol dated 29.06.2024 p.14).
- Pulmonary embolism. Differential diagnosis of PE (Syllabus protocol No.10 dated 29.06.2024 p.16–23).
- IHD: Modern methods of diagnosis and treatment. Innovative diagnostic methods. Cardiac catheterization and coronary angiography (approved protocol No.10 dated 29.06.2024 p.24).
- Cardiogenic shock. Sudden cardiac death. Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (approved protocol dated 29.06.2024 p.27–33).
- Ventricular fibrillation. Defibrillation (approved protocol dated 29.06.2024 p.31).
For 5th year students 2025:
- Addison-Biermer disease (approved protocol dated 25.08.2025 p.14).
- Behcet’s disease.
For 6th year students in the 2025–2026 academic year the following topics were introduced: Collagenoses and metabolic disorders and vitamin deficiency.
Scientific topic of the department:
“Modern aspects of diagnostics and treatment of non-communicable diseases in adults and children in the Republic of Tajikistan” approved by the National Patent Information Center of the Republic of Tajikistan dated 04.03.2021 No.458/01.43314. Accordingly, a student scientific circle “Pulse of the Planet” was created, the plan approved by the Vice-Rector for Science and Innovations, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor A. Ahmedov, protocol No.2 dated 26.09.2022. Members of the circle actively participate in the work of the department and conduct scientific research. Under the supervision of the circle leader, students prepare materials and reports for the republican scientific-practical conference of young scientists and students of the Non-State Educational Institution “Medical-Social Institute of Tajikistan”. Students were prepared for offline participation in the 5th International Olympiad of Medical University Students “Samarkand 2020” from 13–14 December 2024.
Participation in scientific-practical conferences
The department teachers participate in international scientific-practical conferences of scientists of the Republic of Tajikistan and abroad: Russian Federation, Uzbekistan and Iran.
Educational and ideological work
Conducted in curator groups, aimed at improving cultural-educational work and devotion and love for the homeland, visiting historical places (museums, national parks), meetings with members of creative and cultural organizations.
Scientific works
During 2024–2025, the department teachers under the supervision of the Head of the Department Candidate of Medical Sciences Rofizoda Kh.Sh., and assistants Boboeva M.S., Dusmukhamedov M.A., Kobilov M.A. published the following and textbooks:
Lecture course on Propaedeutics of internal diseases.
Physiotherapy in dentistry.
Methods of patient examination for conducting practical classes in propaedeutics of internal diseases.
Scheme of educational medical history in the clinic of internal diseases.
Educational clinical development of situational tasks in propaedeutics of internal diseases.
Use of modern interactive teaching methods.
